Featherstroke Eyebrows

What is a Feather Stroke Tattoo / Microblading?

Feather Stroke Tattoos are a great way to fill up your eyebrows permanently so you don’t have to make them up every morning. Brow feathering can either be done by using a hand tool (micro-blading) or machine technique. We at Lash Haven only use a hand tool for the process. By micro-pigmenting fine strokes that mimic hair into the outer layers of the skin we aim for a very natural look that can hardly be noticed.

How old do I have to be to get tattooed?

You must be 18 years or older to get a Feather Stroke Tattoo treatment. If you are younger than 18 you are legally asked to provide a consent of your parents.

How long do Feather Stroke Tattoos last?

It completely depends on each individual person so there’s no general answer to this question. Factors that vary how long your tattoos last are:

  • The used pigment – the darker the pigments are the longer they will last: Black or dark brown shades will last the longest, blonde ones usually need refreshing after around 6-8 months.
  • The density of pigment – reinforcing the treatment with a second appointment will make it last longer
  • Environmental factors such as exposure to UV light: Not using sun protection and tanning will make your tattoo fade faster. Also, oily skin fastens up the process of fading as well
  • After care – by tinting over the area regularly using glycolic acid based products or peels you will slow down the fading
  • Your health and overall individual physiology – while some people retain pigment very well, others do not

Who benefits the most from featherstroke tattoo?

  • Women who want to save time applying their makeup every morning
  • People who generally enjoy sports, swimming and the beach
  • People who suffer alopecia or hair loss
  • People who suffer from bad eyesight and have trouble applying makeup

How long does the appointment take?

A full set takes between 1-1.5 hours depending on your type and size of eyebrows. Infillers, however, only take about 1 hour. When you make your appointment, we will discuss the time needed and make sure there is plenty of time for you to ask questions and for us to discuss the look you are after.

Does tattooing your eyebrows hurt?

The level of pain varies between person to person. It’s quite common to experience a little discomfort during the first minutes of the treatment. We use numbing cream before the tattooing so that you don’t feel a lot of pain.

I changed my mind - can I remove my eyebrow tattoo?

Any tattoo can be removed via laser treatments, however, many treatments will be needed and it can be quite difficult. Therefore you should see a Feather Brow Tattoo as a permanent job. If you feel unsure about making that decision give yourself more time or go with a very light look at the start as we can easily retouch it and go darker.

How do you find the perfect shape and color for my eyebrows?

We use basic guideline principles to design the perfect eyebrow shape to each individual shape and face by measuring the spacing and relationship between angles of the face and the nose and eyes. Therefore, a “perfect brow” does not exist but is designed for each face individually.

We choose the color for your eyebrows based on your hair, eye and skin color, such as your personality and personal preference. We offer a large range of pigments and are also able to blend 2 or more pigments together to customize a colour for you.

What is the after care like?

Slight redness, swelling, tenderness and itching is common to show up after a Feather Stroke Tattoo application. It normally goes down within a day, however, it can last up to a couple of days.

We recommend to apply a cool compress for 10minutes hourly after the treatment and to not exercise for the following 24 hours. Also, do not expose the area to intense heat (e.g. solarium or sauna). Avoid pressure on treated areas for the first few nights. Also, don’t drink alcohol for 24 hours. Do not use AHA, Retinols/Vitamin C therapy or oil based make-up for 24 hours. Avoid facials, facial waxing, Glycolic or AHA peels, IPL or energy based treatments and microdermabrasion for two weeks after treatment.

How much does it cost?

Full eyebrows start from $300, infillers from $200. A touch-up treatment is recommended every 8-18 months depending on the color and shape of your eyebrows.
